MERMS Presents at RULER Conference!

This week,  MERSD sent a team of teachers and administrators to the 2020 RULER National Implementation Conference.   Our very own Principal Maino led MS Presentation Team supported by Kim Provost and Erin Brahms.  Their workshop focused on Promising Practices in Middle School Implementation of RULER and SEL. The MS was chosen to participate based on their successful school-wide implementation practices.

This was a great opportunity for MERMS to showcase the outstanding work that has been done by the entire middle school faculty and staff.  #HornetPride

What is RULER?

RULER is an evidence-based approach for integrating social and emotional learning into schools, developed at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. RULER applies “hard science” to the teaching of what have historically been called “soft skills.” RULER teaches the skills of emotional intelligence — those associated with recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing, and regulating emotion. Decades of research show that these skills are essential to effective teaching and learning, sound decision making, physical and mental health, and success in school and beyond.
