Tuesday the US Department of Education Green Tour visited
MERSD. It was wonderful event that
showcased our Middle High School facility and celebrated the efforts that went
into receiving the Green Ribbon award.

The Commissioner of Education was here for the second time
this year along with representatives from the National Board of Education. Also
joining us were Gregory Federspiel, Manchester’s new Town Administrator, and
Board of Selectmen representatives Tom Kehoe and Rob Hoff. The students, with the support of faculty
advisor Eric Magers, did a fabulous job representing the school and the GreenScholars program. This program is a distinguishing characteristic of our
schools that is not only a model of twenty-first century learning but also is a
program bringing MERSD national recognition for having a progressive
educational approach.
