Greetings MERSD Community,
It is hard to believe that August is quickly coming to a close and that we will be kicking off the 2023-2024 school year next week. Although the schools were quiet over the summer months, as they always are without the energy and enthusiasm of the students and staff, the district team was hard at work prepping the facilities, onboarding new staff, and planning for the year ahead. I would like to thank the facilities, central office, and tech staff who worked hard during the summer months preparing the schools for the year ahead. Thanks to their efforts the schools are in great shape for the opening.
Over the next few days, you will be receiving communications from your building principals with important information about the students’ return to school, and next week we will be sending out a district back-to-school newsletter with a look at what is on the agenda for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher, counselor, or building Principal. As a District we strive to continually improve the social, emotional, and academic experience of your children to make their school experience the best it can be, so please reach out if you need assistance with an issue or if you have questions or suggestions.
