Every year since 1993, World Water Day (22 March) raises awareness and inspires action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis. It is a United Nations observance coordinated by UN-Water.
In 2017-2018 an MERHS Green Team student, Belle Allmendinger, along with State Senator Marc Pacheco, collaborated on and drafted a bill for the Massachusetts Legislature to observe MASS WATER WEEK and World Water Day. It was passed in 2018, when she was a senior!
