The Independent Staff Wins Record Number of Awards at Suffolk Newspaper Competition!
Each category has three honorable mentions and one first-place
winner. The Independent won an Honorable Mention for Excellence in Sports
Writing, an Honorable Mention for Excellent in News Writing, and the First
Place Award for Excellence in Editorial Writing. This was a record number
of wins for The Independent, and the competition includes some very
prestigious Boston-area schools.
